I think what is important is finding someone who clicks well with you and will listen and not downplay what you are going thru and your emotions.Hollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15431384515813384025noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8532198976979188368.post-836420984190861372012-11-15T09:01:46.238-06:002012-11-15T09:01:46.238-06:00I'm sorry you didn't have a good experienc...I'm sorry you didn't have a good experience! The most important thing is to find a counselor who you really connect with. Don't be afraid to disagree with some things they say, but if you don't feel any connection, find a different counselor. I had one that I just didn't feel connected to. He made me feel uncomfortable although I couldn't really say why. I asked for a different one and then I got Cari, and she was the best!! Counseling is wonderful and so so helpful. Don't be afraid of it! Take charge of your health, especially your mental health. You can get some really great tools during counseling that will help you for the rest of your life. It was pretty much ruining my life :) The therapist didn't really get it or know what to say, unfortunately, and I stopped going after she referred to someone dying of cancer as "real" loss. I would say talking it out will be awesome for you, but don't expect miracles- even therapists are tactless, sometimes. But you should go for it and there is nothing to be ashamed of!
